Paultons Park, Home to Peppa Pig World- A Review

I have been wanting to take the kids to Paultons Park for a long time. Like most children, Jacob has been obsessed with Peppa Pig since he was a baby and now Caleb loves it too. So we took the chance to take him to Peppa Pig world on his 3rd birthday!

Paultons is located in Hampshire with over 70 rides and attractions. It is the home of the UK’s only Peppa Pig World with 9 themed rides.

WHERE TO STAY?

There are loads of short breaks available to book on the Paultons Park Short Breaks website .

All Official Paultons Short Break packages include 2nd Park Day for free! There is so much to do there so this is a brilliant offer.

The day before our visit to the park, we stayed at room2 Southampton as we wanted to explore Southampton and be able to get to the park nice and early in the morning the next day.

room2 Southampton is a unique Hometel (think hotel but with the comfort of your own home!). The property has amazing views over Queens Park and the harbour. The rooms come fully equipped with a kitchen, large king size bed and lots of room to play, work or to relax.

We stayed in the Master Loft and it was awesome that Jacob was able to have his own little den up in the loft! By booking their Explorer Package, you get free onsite parking, breakfast bags and a free drink from their lounge!

It’s such a perfect place for families with young children like ours. The space is just incredibly fun, and I will no doubt be booking again!!

Things we loved:

– Your stay is a full 24 hours! (2pm-2pm) Yes, no more rushing out of the hotel the next day!!

– You actually get a choice of the hardness of your mattress from their matteress menu to help you feel as at home as possible

– Fully equipped kitchen so you can cook what you like, when you like. Perfect when you have fussy kids!

– Bits and bobs box in your room. It’s such a nice little touch when you ramdonly need bits and bobs on your holiday!

PEPPA PIG WORLD

The first thing we did when we got to the park was head straight to Peppa Pig World as we know it can get busy. We got to the park at 10am when they opened (a Wednesday during summer holiday).

The first ride we went on was George’s Dinosaur Adventure. We only had to queue for around 10 minutes and it was pretty fun bobbling along on a dinosaur! This was pretty much the only ride that had a height restriction (min 85cm).

We spent the next few hours at Peppa Pig World and went on a few more rides. Most of the rides we were able to go on as a whole family which made it even more special!

The queues can be quite long but the app will tell you the rough estimate queue time. The actual queue time is usually less than what they estimate.

SHOWS

I downloaded the Paultons Park app before our trip and I was able to get reminders sent to my phone to alert me when shows were about to start.

We were able to catch the feeding of the penguins and the Magical Pirate Adventure Show. We timed the show with lunch to make the most of our time. The boys really enjoyed the pirate show, especially Caleb! He was dancing along to every song.

THE REST OF THE PARK

With over 70 rides, you are never short of things to do at Paultons! There are exhilarating rollercoasters, relaxing gardens, animals and birds, 4d cinemas, splash parks and playgrounds.

Honestly, we spent over 5 hours there and we didn’t even get to see everything!!

Of the things we did see, Jacob enjoyed the 4d cinema the most. It was something different and he had a lot of funny trying to reach into the screen!

WHAT WE LOVED

  • Plenty of parking and most of them are really close to the entrance
  • The admission process was well organised and quick
  • Toilets were very clean through out the day and they are all equipped with child seats
  • The app was fantastic, really useful in filtering out rides your children are too small for. I also love the reminder functions so you won’t miss a show
  • Everything in Peppa Pig World was accessible to my 3 year old who is under 90cm. He usually have to miss out on a lot of rides at theme parks but there were plenty of things for him to do
  • You are never short for options for food. There are plenty of places that sell food, drinks and ice-cream and they are never too far away
  • The gardens are such an oasis when you just want a break from all the hustle and bustle
  • They are buggy hire available and they come as a single or a double
  • There are 2 splash parks, one located inside Peppa Pig World and one near Lost Kingdom. They look like amazing fun, especially on a hot day. I definitely regret not being prepared for it!!
  • If you have any accessible issues and/or unable to queue for a long time, they have a special pass for people to fast track queues

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE

  • Shorter queues…. If that is even possible at a theme park during summer holiday!
  • More of a variation of rides in Peppa Pig World. They rides mainly go round and round, either as a car, train, on water or sky. They are great for children but I feel like it would be more exciting if the rides varied a bit more
  • Maybe a queue jumping pass that is available for purchase to cut down on waiting time

All in all, it was a fantastic day out. Jacob really enjoyed spending his birthday at Paultons and we can’t wait to return again to explore the rest of the park!!
